Elks Lodge is organizing a fundraiser for a DPS officer

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Community members turned out in droves to raise money for injured DPS Officer Patrick Timms, who was injured in an off-duty accident earlier this month.

The fundraiser was held at the Elks Lodge and included live music, a silent auction and a lunch special with proceeds benefiting Timms and his family.

DPS Sergeant Adrian Briseno said Timms’ impact on the community was reflected in the number of people who supported him.

“He’s well known, he’s done a lot for a lot of people here, and we just, you know, we just want to show him our gratitude for everything he’s done, not only for the department, but for this community here. As you can see, there were many people who showed their support for him,” Briseno said.
