Hong Konger dead, another injured in stabbing attack in Yuen Long

A Hong Kong resident died and another was injured after a group of knife-wielding people attacked him in Yuen Long.

Police said they received a report at 5:34 a.m. on Wednesday that two men were attacked by seven to eight assailants near the Hi Yip factory building on Wang Yip Street West in Yuen Long.

The attackers then fled the scene in four private vehicles towards Hi Yip Street, a police spokesman said.

The first victim, 24, suffered wounds to his arms and legs and was transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital. He was later sent to Pok Oi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:38 am.

The second man, 28, suffered spine injuries and was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital. He reported the incident to the police.

According to police, the incident is currently under investigation.
