An illegal immigrant who failed to show up for an immigration hearing after being released at the border has been arrested on suspicion of raping a five-year-old girl on Long Island, police said.

According to Nassau County cops, 26-year-old Wilson Castillo Diaz is accused of assaulting the little girl on October 16.

Details of the alleged rape – including Diaz’s relationship with the girl and where it occurred – were not immediately available.

Police said that after the alleged attack, the child was taken to a local hospital for medical examination.

According to cops, Diaz, who lived in Westbury, illegally entered the United States near the Rio Grande, Texas, in April 2014.

He was detained by U.S. border agents but was later released after receiving a summons to appear before an immigration judge.

According to cops, Diaz then failed to show up for his immigration court hearing.

Police said Immigration and Customs Enforcement authorities had already been notified of his recent arrest, but did not specify which country the suspect was from.

Diaz was arraigned last Wednesday on a number of charges, including rape, attempted rape and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was held on $200,000 bail.
