The police shot and killed a 29-year-old man on Monday later, as the authorities say, he released officers responding to the home dispute in Maine.

“K-9 preacher was more than a working dog-he was a devoted partner, defender and hero,” said the Maine Police Colonel in a statement. “Most people will never understand the victims made by our teams K-9, but last night the preacher made the final victim to protect others against harm.”

The police said that the child was not injured during the incident and met his mother again. The deputy injured sheriff was taken to the hospital and later released.

Three officers involved in shooting are on administrative leave as a general prosecutor.
