Grand Forks man charged with possessing 2 pounds of methamphetamine and 30 grams of mushrooms with intent to deliver – Grand Forks Herald

GRAND FORKS — A Grand Forks man faces up to 20 years in prison after law enforcement executed a drug search warrant at his residence and allegedly found multiple drugs, including 2 pounds of methamphetamine and 30 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.

Douglas Allen Austreng, 61, is charged with Class A Felony Possession of 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Class B Felony Possession of a Schedule I Hallucinogenic Substance with Intent to Deliver, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver 1/2 or More ounces but less than 500 grams of marijuana.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed in the case, on October 29, the Grand Forks Drug Task Force executed an arrest warrant for Austreng. Inside, law enforcement allegedly located approximately 1,001.4 grams of methamphetamine – including the bag’s weight -, 30.23 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 0.82 grams of cocaine, 48.7 grams of marijuana, $3,844 in U.S. currency, a digital scale and designer handbags.

Austreng’s first court appearance is scheduled for November 1 at 1:30 p.m.
