Accident on Stoney Trail: one person taken to hospital

One person was taken to hospital Friday morning after a crash on Stoney Trail.

Calgary police said they were called to a two-vehicle crash involving a sedan and a school bus that occurred on the highway near the westbound Center Street/Harvest Hills Boulevard NE exit.

The school bus was empty, the driver was not injured, but the driver of the Volkswagen Golf sedan suffered minor injuries.

“Roads are slippery this morning and we are reminding people to slow down, allow extra space between vehicles and exercise caution on bridges and intersections,” police said in a statement.

Police also reminded Calgarians of the importance of safety winter driving.
