Man accused of pointing gun at another driver, victim in Conway

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – A man is behind bars after allegedly pointing a gun at another driver in Conway.

Court records show Rodney Miles, 48, was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Wednesday. He was later released on $15,000 bail.

Miles’ charges stem from an incident that occurred on October 26, according to a police report and warrants obtained by WMBF News.

Officers with the Conway Police Department were informed by the person named in the report that the victim was driving a vehicle with a trailer and two other people were inside. The victim was trying to avoid an accident on Highway 501 when he swerved into another lane because he thought Miles had let them pass.

However, police were told that Miles allegedly followed the other driver to a nearby restaurant. Miles then allegedly began screaming at the victims, saying they almost hit him, before pulling out a gun.

The police report described the firearm as a “medium-sized firearm” with a “large-capacity magazine.” Miles is accused of aggressively pointing a gun at the victims. The victims also feared for their safety and thought Miles would shoot. The report shows they were convicted based on his behavior.
