Winnipeg police: Man charged in North End shooting

A 25-year-old man has been charged with multiple felonies after he allegedly shot another man with a shotgun during an argument at a North End home last month.

Officers said the victim, also 25, was hospitalized with serious injuries to his upper body after being shot on October 10.

Investigators determined that the shooting occurred at a home in the 700 block of Flora Avenue. The suspect was identified and arrested on October 10 at 1000 Logan Avenue.

Police say the suspect and victim knew each other and became involved in a dispute over personal property, which escalated into the suspect shooting the victim with a shotgun, striking him in the upper body.

The suspect was charged with aggravated assault, intentional discharge of a firearm, pointing a gun at a target and illegal possession of a weapon.

He was taken into custody.
