The Houston Texans have a bright spot despite their loss to the New York Jets

The Houston Texans’ offensive depth was tested in their Week 9 loss to the New York Jets after Nico Collins remained on injured reserve and Stefon Diggs was sidelined for the year with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

With Collins and Diggs out, Tank Dell stepped up with six catches for 126 yards.

Dell appears poised to take over as the centerpiece of the offense, but quarterback CJ Stroud is hoping to get a few other players involved as well.

“It was obvious he had to step up and made a lot of big plays for us. We have to keep it up. I thought Metchie (John Metchie III) did a good job, and Rob (Robert Woods) and Hutch (Xavier Hutchinson), but we have to find a way to get those players more involved. I start with taking shots, we have to put them in position to win and they have won a lot of runs, we also have to be able to protect. There’s a lot of stuff we can sit here and talk about, but yes, there’s a lot of stuff that needs fixing,” Stroud said after the game.

The Texans will have the opportunity to rectify the situation with additional time off before their Week 10 game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football.
