FBI investigates home linked to Mika Miller’s husband – Crime Online

The FBI conducts “court-approved law enforcement activities” at a residence linked to agency spokesman John-Paul “JP” Miller confirmed to ABC 15.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Mica Miller, wife of John-Paul, pastor at Solid Rock Church on The Market Common, died by suicide on April 27 at Lumber River State Park in Robeson County.

After Mika’s death, law enforcement released the 911 call, surveillance footage and a detailed timeline of events surrounding her death.

At the time of her death, Mica was in the middle of divorce proceedings from John-Paul.

The statement showed that Mika’s sister, Sierra Francis, applied to be special administrator of Mika’s estate on May 2, less than a week after her death and four days before the Robeson County Medical Examiner ruled her death a suicide.

Sierra stated that Mica experienced “abuse and violence” from her husband, John-Paul. Mica suspected that someone was following her and believed that John-Paul had hired people to track her movements.

Sierra also reportedly said that John-Paul later confirmed this during a sermon she watched, as detailed in the affidavit.

In the days after Mika’s death, family, friends and community members gathered and held memorials to demand “Justice for Mika.”

In June, attorney for Mika Miller’s family introduced “Mickey’s Law,” also known as the coercive control law. Ward described the Coercive Control Act as dealing with behavior that “dominates, manipulates and intimidates” people in intimate relationships, including threats, humiliation, emotional abuse and isolation.

Police have not arrested or charged John-Paul with any crimes in connection with Mika’s death.

The plot develops. Check for updates.
