Motorcyclist dies in Marple October 18 – Delco Times

A motorcyclist who was seriously injured died in an accident on October 18.

Marple Township Police Chief Brandon Graeff said his department has not yet received official confirmation.

However, Graeff said he saw it obituary for Ryan Wagman, 20, who was the young man involved in the accident and who stated that he died from injuries sustained in the accident.

The obituary states that Wagman died on October 28 at Jefferson Hospital, so the Philadelphia Office of the Medical Examiner is responsible for notifying forensic police.

The accident occurred in front of the Bank of America at 1980 S. Sproul Road in Marple around 9:45 p.m., when his motorcycle collided with a northbound four-wheeler.

There were no other injuries.

Graeff said the juvenile driver was turning left into the bank parking lot. The driver and a juvenile passenger reported seeing the motorcycle, but said they were beginning to turn at a traffic light to enter the Lawrence Park Shopping Center.

Graeff said one witness reported being stopped at a traffic light heading south. The witness said the motorcycle “whizzed by” on their right at a high rate of speed just as the light turned green, the chief said.

Graeff said the motorcyclist was riding in a group, but was so far ahead of the other motorcyclists that they did not notice the collision.

After the accident, Wagman was taken to Lankenau Medical Center and then to Jefferson Hospital.

A GoFundMe has been set up for Wagman, who is a 2022 graduate of Marple Newtown High School.

His obituary stated that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to make donations to funeral services may do so by calling the funeral home directly at 610-583-2727 or by clicking link to donate.
