Naveen Babu suicide: PP Divya in police custody today till 5 pm | Kerala News

Kannur: A first class judicial magistrate’s court in Kannur has allowed the remand of former district panchayat president PP Divya till 5 pm on Friday. According to Manorama News, this decision follows a custody application submitted by the police.

Divya’s bail plea will be heard on Tuesday after completion of all verification processes, including numbering and listing. Naveen Babu’s family will then join the case. The former ADM’s family is also preparing to oppose the bail application.

Meanwhile, the state government and the revenue department continue to remain silent on the controversy surrounding them Kannur district collector Arun Vijayan’s statement on ADM’s death. The inquiry report by Joint Commissioner of Land Revenue A Geetha, submitted on October 24, was submitted to Revenue Minister K Rajan along with the observations of the Principal Secretary and Principal Secretary.

After Naveen Babu’s death, the minister described ADM as a good official and said he would provide further information after receiving the inquiry report. However, as the findings are likely to be reviewed in court proceedings, officials pointed out that the report cannot be made public as it contains details of Naveen Babu’s farewell meeting, statements made by PP Divya and ADM’s death.

The report exonerating ADM in the petrol pump case is expected to be presented to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday.

Collector’s declaration submitted in a sealed cover
Kannur District Collector Arun K. Vijayan submitted his statement to the Joint Commissioner of Revenue in a sealed cover, which was later added to the inquiry report as per the advice of the Principal Secretary of the Revenue. Time will tell whether the controversial statement was officially recorded in the report.

The Thalassery Sessions Court, in its order denying bail to PP Divya, quoted the debt collector’s statement that ADM had admitted to the “mistake” in its chambers. The court also noted that this admission could not constitute evidence that ADM accepted a bribe in order to issue a no-objection certificate in the petrol pump case.
