Amy Senger

Amy Senger, an administrative assistant with Minot Public Schools, was among 11 recipients of September’s Eagle Awards presented by the Minot Area Chamber EDC.

Senger was nominated by a parent she helped with the tuition waiver process. After first making contact with the parent in 2023, Senger continued to work with her the following year and helped guide the parent through the process.

The nominator said Senger was gone “above and beyond” to help them complete the formalities and answer any questions.

“Thanks to her commitment, time and support, I feel confident that both my child and I are prepared for this school year and will successfully navigate any challenges ahead, knowing that if I have any questions, Amy will be available.” the nominator said in a statement shared by the Minot Area Chamber EDC.

Senger moved to Minot in the fall of 2005, where she worked from home as a medical transcriptionist while raising her daughters. She began working in Minot Public Schools in the fall of 2011 as a paraprofessional at Longfellow Elementary School. In January 2014, Senger began serving in a dual role as a specialist assistant and part-time secretary at Longfellow. In 2016, she became a full-time secretary at Perkett Elementary, where she worked until she became the administrative assistant to the MPS superintendent and activities director.

Senger said her job in the Administration Building involves supporting the superintendent and activities director with a variety of tasks, from field calls, managing calendars and preparing materials for board meetings. It also maintains documentation related to school activities and helps parents solve registration problems.

“I love that every day is different. I am very lucky to work with wonderful people. I feel honored to have been nominated, along with other winners, for the Eagle Award. – Senger said.
