MILWAUKEE – Vice President Kamala Harris urges his supporters to vote as the clock ticks down to Election Day.

“We’re going to do it, but no one can sit on the sidelines,” the Democratic presidential candidate emphasized while campaigning in the battleground of Wisconsin. “You don’t want to look back on those four days and regret what you could have done.”

Harris and the Republican candidate, former president trump, held dueling rallies on Friday night a few miles apart in Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s largest city.

Hours earlier, while campaigning in Michigan, another key Great Lakes swing state, Trump told supporters that “nothing matters except what happens on Tuesday.”

“Just pretend we’re one point behind. We are not. We are at the top. But let’s pretend that we are one point behind on Tuesday,” the former president emphasized. He once again touted that he was leading Harris, even though the latest polls continue to show that this is a mistake.

As time passes, the campaign strategy changes.

“Closing arguments have been made. Now it’s not really about persuasion. It’s about attendance. And that’s where all the energy of the campaign will be directed,” longtime Republican strategist David Kochel told Fox News.

Kochel, a veteran of numerous Republican presidential campaigns, said: “At this point, people are making a decision. There are very few people to convince at this point. And if they make a decision, they choose between voting or sitting on the couch.”

On Thursday, Harris and Trump held their final events in the Western battlegrounds of Arizona and Nevada, and Friday’s competing rallies were their final stops in Wisconsin before election day.

Razor-thin margins in these three states, along with Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina, decided President Biden victory over Trump in 2020 and will likely determine whether Harris or Trump wins the 2024 election.

Both nominees will maintain their fast pace this weekend.

Harris campaigns on Saturday in Georgia and North Carolina and makes multiple stops in Michigan on Sunday. On Election Eve, he travels across Pennsylvania, which, with 19 electoral votes up for grabs, is the biggest prize of the seven battlegrounds.

Trump campaign this weekend in Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. On Saturday, he will also take a circuitous route to Virginia, a former swing state that has tilted blue in presidential elections for two decades. The former president will hold a rally in the conservative southwestern part of the Commonwealth.

The former president made a similar stop in another blue-leaning state, New Mexico, Thursday.

On Monday, the day before the election, Trump will campaign in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, then hold his final rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the same city where he ended his 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns.

But not only bannermen on the trail. The candidates – Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, the Republican vice presidential nominee, and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee – are fanning out across the country with their top surrogates.

Away from the spotlight, campaign workers and volunteers make the final round, knocking on doors, calling, texting and emailing to make sure their supporters have already voted or will vote on election day.

In marginal elections, this may matter.

“The idea is to get people to the polls, return absentee ballots, get the remaining early votes that are left at the door and just not leave anything on the field,” Kochel emphasized.
