A 67-year-old motorcyclist from Hong Kong has died after colliding with a car in Kowloon

A 67-year-old motorcyclist from Hong Kong was killed and his passenger injured after colliding with a car at an intersection in Kowloon Bay.

A pedestrian called police on Saturday around 11:20 a.m. after spotting a man and a backseat driver lying on the ground at the intersection of Wang Chiu Road and Kai Cheung Road.

The man was sent to United Christian Hospital in Kwun Tong, where he was pronounced dead at 11:55 a.m.

A 61-year-old woman with injuries was transported to hospital. The 42-year-old car driver also required medical attention because he injured his hand.

About two weeks earlier, a 22-year-old motorcyclist died after he hit the back of a stopped delivery vehicle on Lantau Link.

According to data from transport authorities, between 2,800 and 2,900 accidents involving motorcycles were recorded in the city in 2022 and 2023.
