In a truly strange incident, police in the Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh received an unusual emergency call – a man reported the theft of 250 grams of potatoes from his house. This strange case took place just before Diwali when a man named Vijay Verma called the UP-112 helpline demanding action in the case of missing potatoes.

According to a TOI report, Verma, a resident of Mannapurwa, prepared potatoes to be cooked and left them for a while. When he returned, he found them missing, prompting him to call the emergency hotline and demand a full investigation. The police arrived at Verma’s house and found out that the ‘theft’ involved just 250 grams of potatoes.

Responding officers recorded a 5-second video of their interaction with the man, who insisted: “This is what needs to be investigated.” When asked if he had been drinking, the Hardoi man admitted that he had, explaining: “Yes, I work hard all day and have a small drink in the evening. But it’s not about alcohol; it’s about the missing potatoes.

Another strange encounter: a drunk man and a python

In another unusual alcohol-related incident, a video has surfaced from the village of Singanapalle in Andhra Pradesh, showing a drunken truck driver narrowly escaping a close encounter with a python. Reports indicate that the driver was abusing alcohol after a long day of work. Too drunk to return home, he collapsed on a nearby platform and fell asleep.

Unbeknownst to him, a large python emerged from the surrounding woods and wrapped itself around him. Undated video shows the python wrapped around the driver’s neck as he lay unconscious in an inebriated state.
