The remains of pilots who crashed in a Navy jet crash will return to Washington next week

ISLAND COUNTY, WA.Remains two Navy pilots who died in the crash of an EA-18G Growler near Mount Rainier will return home to Washington next week.

Lieutenant Commander Lyndsay Evans and Lieutenant Serena Wileman, both 31, stayed was lost in a fighter crash October 15.

Airmen’s remains return from Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

Lt. Wileman will return home to Oak Harbor on Monday, November 4 at approximately 7:00 p.m

Wallin-Stucky Funeral Home will provide procession details to those wishing to gather along the route. FOX 13 Seattle has reached out to us for more information.

Lt. Cmdr. Evans will return to Anacortes later next week. Her family asked that the visit be a private matter.

“The families of both LT Wileman and LCDR Evans wish to express their gratitude for the gracious support from the local and surrounding communities in recent weeks,” reads a statement from Naval Station Whidbey Island.

Evans and Wileman were identified on October 21 after search and rescue efforts turned into a recovery operation. They crashed in a remote, steep and heavily forested area east of Mount Rainier while on a routine training flight.

The two were piloting an EA-18G Growler, an electronic warfare aircraft with “Zappers” from the 130th Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ).
