USC Trojans battle Notre Dame to recruit top-100 linebacker Madden Faraimo

USC Trojans battle Notre Dame to recruit top-100 linebacker Madden Faraimo

Nearly every school in the country, including this one, is recruiting four-star guard Madden Faraimo USC Trojans. According to the 247Sports Composite, Faraimo is the No. 3 prospect in California and the No. 62 prospect in the country.

The athletic guard currently plays at J Serra Catholic High School, which gives the Trojans the advantage of proximity in recruiting Faraimo. USC battles Notre Dame, Texas and Washington for candidates from the top hundred. He has already made trips to each of the schools, but he plans to return to some schools for another visit.

According to On3’s Chad Simmons, Faraimo had three key visits scheduled for November before making his decision. Faraimo was at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for USC’s season opener against Utah State, and will return on Nov. 30 for the final game of the year against Notre Dame.

Additionally, Simmons reports that Faraimo will visit Notre Dame on November 9 and plans to visit Texas on November 23. Earlier this summer, Faraimo told Simmons he wanted to take his time making a decision.

“There is no wrong choice. I’m just trying to find the best school for me,” Faraimo said. “It will be difficult to say no to three schools, but it would be worse to say yes to one and then turn around, say no and give up committing. My morals as a person don’t really align with that, so I take more time to make the best decision.”

If Faraimo doesn’t visit Washington a second time, the Huskies’ chances of landing a four-star recruit will diminish. Notre Dame appears to have recruiting momentum as 247Sports has several projections, but Faraimo didn’t give much indication as to which school he’s leading.

Trojans defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn he’s already made significant improvements on defense in his first year at USC, and landing recruits like Faraimo will certainly help Lynn progress. The elite prospect told Simmons several reasons why he’s still considering purchasing the Trojans.

“USC is special because it’s close to home. I have cousins who played there, my brother went there and my family lived nearby, so USC is different. The staff also stands out,” Faraimo said.

Faraimo is currently the highest-ranked uncommitted recruit in California and the highest-ranked uncommitted linebacker in the country. The Trojans have the number 10 recruitment class nationally with 23 commits according to 247Sports. Faraimo would be USC’s third-highest recruit.
