Uncle rapes and murders four-year-old niece in Tirupati, buries body in a field

The man, Nagaraju, lured the child into a field with snacks, then raped and murdered her.

On Saturday, a police official said a four-year-old girl was raped and murdered by her distant relative in a village in Tirupati district.

According to Tirupati District Superintendent of Police L Subbarayudu, 24-year-old Nagaraju, the victim’s uncle, lured the girl to a secluded place in AM Puram village by offering her snacks on Friday evening and committed the crime.

“Nagaraju lives near the girl’s house and used to play with her every day. Yesterday (Friday) evening he took her to the store and bought some snacks. He later took her from her home, sexually assaulted her and killed her,” he said.

Later, the girl’s parents noticed she was missing and started searching, only to realize that she was last seen from Nagaraju.

They filed a police complaint about the missing girl.

Following the complaint, the police immediately registered a missing person’s report and arrested Nagaraju.

He added that during the interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime he was accused of.

Police later took Nagaraju to search for the girl’s body and found her near a government school around 9 p.m.

Nagaraju has been brought under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act and other relevant sections.

The accused will appear in a local court on Saturday.

The Tirupati SP stated that it would approach the fast-track court for speedy hearing of the case.
