1 dead, 3 injured in Lake County crash

GREAT FALLS – A 29-year-old Arlee man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Lake County on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

The incident occurred around 5:50 p.m. on U.S. Highway 93 near the intersection with Holt Driver, near the community of Ravalli.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the man was driving south on Highway 93 when he apparently entered the northbound lane and collided head-on with another vehicle.

The man – the only passenger of the Ford F-150 – died on the spot; MHP says he was wearing a seat belt. His name has not been revealed.

The second vehicle contained six people from St. Ignatius. Three of them were taken to a hospital in Missoula; the nature and extent of their injuries were not disclosed.

According to the MHP, the collision was not under the influence of alcohol, drugs or excessive speed.
