A fatal crash in Clackamas County is under investigation

CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. (KATU) — The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash on South Springwater Road in Clackamas County.

Officials say deputies received a report of a serious two-vehicle accident at 5 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival, they found a 2012 Dodge Ram truck and a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser had collided head-on.

The driver of the PT Cruiser, identified as 22-year-old Ryan Edward Bloomster of Estacada, died at the scene. A 22-year-old passenger with serious injuries was taken to hospital.

Authorities said the driver of the Dodge truck, identified as Paul Anthony Dunn, 51, of Happy Valley, and a 12-year-old female passenger were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Officials say investigators now believe Bloomster may have failed to negotiate the curve.
