The body was found after neighbors alerted the police about a strong odor coming from the locked apartment. After the break-in, officers found Guruprasad’s body hanging from a ceiling fan in a severely decomposed state, indicating he may have died at least two or three days earlier.

Guruprasad, who recently remarried, was reportedly facing severe financial difficulties, including debt stress and a legal dispute over an unpaid check that led to his arrest last year.

The director had been living alone in his apartment for the last eight months, and his body was found just one day after his birthday, on November 2. He left behind a wife and two daughters.

The police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the incident.
