A man has died after being hit by a car in west Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZ family) — A man is dead after being hit by a car in west Phoenix Saturday evening.

Phoenix police were called to a collision between a car and a pedestrian near 79th Avenue and McDowell Road just before midnight.

The officers arrived at the scene and found a man lying on the road. He was taken to hospital, where he later died. His name has not been revealed.

Police say the driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of injury. An investigation is underway.
