Ed Ingram is expected to remain the starter and Levi Drake Rodriguez will be the starter

It appears the Vikings will not make any changes at right guard this week. According to reports, even though Dalton Risner has been activated from injured reserve, Ed Ingram is expected to remain the starter for Sunday’s game against the Colts. Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune.

The new left tackle will be Cam Robinson debuting in “Vikings”. he will replace the injured Christian Darrisaw, but this will be the only change to Minnesota’s offensive line.

It will be interesting to see what kind of leash Ingram has, both in this game and in the future. Among the 58 defenders who have played at least 300 snaps this season, Ingram’s 48.9 PFF grade ranks 57th. The third-year starter was accused of surrendering 20 pressures and five sacks in seven games.

Risner has never played RG in the NFL, but he has plenty of experience at LG and has shown strong play as a pass blocker over the past five seasons. Returning to the training camp, he worked on the right side. If Ingram struggles early in tonight’s game, would the Vikings consider making a change?

In other news, seventh-round rookie defensive tackle Levi Drake Rodriguez is officially active for the first time and is expected to make his NFL debut in prime time. He had a good preseason and could potentially give the Vikings a boost in their pass rush in the middle of the field, but he could also only play a few snaps. Rodriguez has been in good form all season behind Jalen Redmond and Taki Taimani, who was placed on injured reserve on Saturday.

The Vikings’ inactive players are LB Blake Cashman (toe), CB Akayleb Evans (hip), CB Dwight McGlothern, OL Dan Feeney and OL Walter Rouse. This will be the third unsuccessful match in a row for Cashman, who is struggling with a pitch injury. Head coach Kevin O’Connell is hopeful the team’s top defenseman will be able to return next week against the Jaguars.

The only noticeable inactivity for the Colts is starting lieutenant Bernhard Raimann, who was ruled out Friday with a concussion. Rookie Matt Goncalves will make his first career start at this spot tonight.
