Angel Carter is keeping the memory of her late twin brother alive for her niece.

I only talk to PEOPLE at Cirque du Soleil’s GOAT At the red carpet premiere in Santa Monica, California, Thursday, October 24, 2024, Angel, 36, shared how she calls her daughter Harper Noelle5, about her brother Aaron Carter following his death in 2022.

“You know she doesn’t necessarily remember him, but we talk about him a lot,” says Angel, who shares a daughter with husband Corey Conrad. “So he sees his photos at home and we have a photo frame called an Aura frame that displays the photos.”

The angel adds: “And he sees Aaron and knows him. And it was really sweet. Just a few months ago, we were in the car and she said, “Mom, I want to tell you something.” ”

“I said, ‘What?’ And she said, “Aaron, he lives in my heart and speaks to me in my heart.” “The Angel – who works with Children’s Mental Health Foundation – he continues. “And that was really special. That’s really sweet. And I’m just happy that he gets to know who my twin brother is and that it’s a positive thing at this point.

Talking about Aaron as her daughter’s uncle, Angel says, “I think in Aaron’s case, because his life was so special, and also because being a celebrity kid and not being able to experience a real-life situation when Harper was born, I think that being around the baby was so surreal for him.”

She then added that events like baby showers “were so foreign” to her brother due to his childhood fame. “I think it was really special,” she said of sharing family events with her twin.

Aaron became a father in November 2021, with him and his fiancée Melanie Martin on and off welcomed a baby boy named Prince.

Apart from Aaron, Angel is also a sister Street boys member Nick Carter44, Leslie Carter – who died of an overdose in 2012 at age 25 – and Bobbie Jean Carter, who died from “poisoning from the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine” in 2023 he was 41 years old. Aaron died after drowning after inhaling difluoroethane and taking alprazolam

In June, Angel revealed Squeeze podcast about the death of her sister Leslie he prepared her for Aaron’s death because of its age cycle of addiction.

“What’s so interesting about Leslie’s death… she died when I was 23, her death completely blindsided me,” she said. “I didn’t see this one coming. When she died, I was already in therapy, preparing for Aaron’s death. I thought he was going to die.”
