15-year-old Washington State a boy accused of murdering his parents and three siblings allegedly tried to fake a murder-suicide committed by his younger brother.

According to the Associated Press, the suspect’s 11-year-old sister survived Monday’s attack by playing dead and told police what actually happened. New details were made public Thursday about the massacre at the Humiston family’s Lake Alice home in Fall City. east of Seattle.

The girl told police that her 15-year-old brother had used their father’s gun and that her brother was the only sibling who knew the code to the box where their dad’s gun was kept.

She told police that her brother had recently gotten into trouble for failing tests at school.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as Mark Humiston, 43; Sarah Humiston, 42; and their children Beniamin, 13; Joshua, 9; and Katheryn, 7, reports the Associated Press. Authorities did not release the name of the suspect.

According to the Associated Press, the suspect called 911 around 5 a.m. Monday and reported that his 13-year-old brother had murdered their family after getting into trouble for watching pornographic material.

A neighbor then called 911 as the surviving girl escaped and shared what happened. The police learned that the injured girl was treated by a neighbor with medical experience, who was shot twice, escaped and ran to neighbors for help.

A hospital spokesman said she was taken to Harborview Medical Center and released from the hospital Tuesday evening The Seattle Times..

When officers arrived at the home Monday, they found a “chaotic scene” but immediately detained one teenager, King County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Mellis said at a news conference.

When officers entered the house, they discovered five dead people: the bodies of two adults and three children. After discovering the bodies, deputies realized that it was ca “significant crime scene”, Mellis said.

The suspect was charged Thursday with five counts of aggravated first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder with an enhanced firearm, all of which amount to domestic violence, the King County Attorney’s Office said. He is being held in secure custody at the Clark Child and Family Justice Center.

The case was initially moved to juvenile court because of the suspect’s age, but prosecutors said they were asking a judge for a hearing to determine whether the case would be moved to adult court.

According to the Associated Press, the suspect’s lawyers told the court that he had no criminal history.

The judge also ordered the teenager not to contact his surviving sister.

“I just saw the kids in the driveway yesterday afternoon,” neighbor Lynne Trowern he told Fox 13. “I’m shocked. I kept crying.”

Neighbors told the website that the five children could be seen swimming, fishing and boating off the shore of their lake home throughout the summer.

“So polite. I study at home. It’s inconceivable what happened,” said a former neighbor.

“Dad worked hard and mom was the most dedicated and loyal mother you could ask for,” said Rhea Robertson, a soccer coach who mentored one of the victims KOMO News. “You thought they were perfect. They looked perfect to me from the outside.”
