Man hit by car in southwest Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are investigating a pedestrian accident Sunday evening.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred on South Durango Drive, south of Blue Diamond Road, at approximately 8:07 p.m.

The crash involved a 2012 Toyota Corolla traveling south on Durango and a pedestrian who crossed the road outside the crosswalk. The Toyota hit a pedestrian and knocked him to the ground.

Arriving medical services took the pedestrian to UMC Trauma, where he later died.

The Toyota driver remained at the scene of the accident, and police say he showed no signs of injury.

“The pedestrian’s death was the 130th traffic fatality of 2024 under the jurisdiction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department,” police noted in the release.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
