Person seriously injured in house fire in Lower Hutt

A person was seriously injured in a house fire in Stokes Valley, Lower Hutt.

Emergency services, including fire crews from five fire stations, were called to the property on Hanson Grove just after 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

One person was taken to hospital in critical condition.

The area was cordoned off and police worked with fire and rescue services to establish the circumstances.
