‘Too little, too late’: Former rap mogul reveals why he supports Trump in scathing rebuke of Biden-Harris

The co-founder of Death Row Records, one of the most recognizable and influential record labels in the music industry, talked to Fox News Digital about why he recently decided to support his former President Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris.

It’s about his achievements,” Michael “Harry-O” Harris told Fox News Digital of his decision to support Trump, who pardoned Harris from a 33-year prison sentence with seven years remaining, one of his last actions as president.

The former president, while president, has taken some initiatives that particularly appeal to my community, as well as others.”

Harris cited several examples of policies from the first Trump administration that he believes are consistent with his organization’s goals: First community actionincluding permanent funding for HBCUs, opportunity zones that promote investment in low-income neighborhoods, the First Step Act, and bipartisan legislation to combat sickle cell disease.

Polls yes shown more and more often that Trump has made significant progress in the Black community and many expect him to gain a historically high share of those votes in November. Harris told Fox News Digital he thinks it’s due in part to voters’ confidence that Trump will keep his word and the lack of action by the Biden-Harris administration.

People have more confidence that he’ll keep his word, and I think that’s based to some extent on the same research that we’ve done when someone doesn’t campaign for something but actually passes a law. . . who wants to double what he did in the first administration,” Harris said.

I haven’t heard it from the other side that often. I mean, honestly, what I heard came a little too late, too little, too late in my opinion. So, when it comes to finding a balance and you have to make a decision, a critical decision that may affect your life and the life of your family, you have to base it on the facts, and the facts are that for the last time three and a half years ago, the current the administration has not really focused on our community.

Harris told Fox News Digital there was “nothing substantive to address” what the Biden-Harris administration has done to “help move our community forward.”

“But despite this, I continued to challenge both the candidates and President Trump, and this support meant a lot to our organization, but more importantly to our community, to have someone commit to working with us to deal with real issues in the community.”

Fox News Digital asked Harris what his theory is as to why VP Harris has struggled to win the support of Black voters in the same way that polls show President Biden.

I think as a general public I just want to be honest here. I don’t understand the intelligence of the black community,” Harris responded. “I think they put them in a box and just thought that everyone suffered from herd mentality and just because certain parts of our community say we should do it, then everyone should do it.”

“I’m not saying some people don’t fall into that range, but a lot of people come back to reality. They have to come back to reality because they live in a reality where their purchases cost three or two times as much in gas is twice or three times as much as the ability to rent or pay off a mortgage. Over the last four years, their situation has changed dramatically.

Harris continued: “So when someone starts saying vote for me just because it’s offensive, and I think that’s what the fallback is, is for someone to vote for you for doubling what they just had. I think people are too intelligent for this.”

Harris also spoke about his “life-changing” experience of being pardoned by Trump after spending decades in prison on drug-trafficking charges.

I have been gone for 33 years and President Trump decided to change something and what some people don’t know is that during President Obama’s administration I asked for a pardon twice and never received any response and the fact that President Trump’s exit has brought relief to me and others, I cannot even put it into words,” Harris said. “It changed everything for me. This changed everything in my family. It gave me the opportunity to re-engage with society and try to do my part. To make it a better place.

Harris explained that he met with Trump for about an hour after he was released from prison and shed some light on what that conversation was like.

We were just sitting and talking about stuff and family and I remember asking him about it, you know, because I’m so grateful, you know? What can I do for you? He said, ‘You don’t owe me anything, the only thing you owe me, to be honest with you, is to be successful,'” Harris said. “I read your file. I saw what you did in your absence, and it was commendable, but I just didn’t think you should spend another day in jail.”

Earlier this month Harris was released “Plan O” as “a challenge to anyone who wishes to become President of the United States of America to commit to the following policy proposals to end fleeting promises of hope and change.”

These proposals include promoting economic self-sufficiency to end the vicious cycle of generational debt, encouraging responsible home ownership through the expansion of rent-to-own programs, and developing a comprehensive and targeted economic empowerment program that supports financial literacy, career development and entrepreneurship education.

Shortly after the announcement, Trump posted on Truth Social: “Michael Harris (Harry O) is working hard to support and build on what my administration did for Black Americans in its first term. Good luck to Michael and the Community First team. Working together, we will make America great again for all!”
