Fast senior – The overtaking maneuver went very wrong: two people were injured

On Tuesday around 7:30 a.m. there was a serious road accident on Weilhartlandesstraße L501. A 68-year-old driver from Braunau was driving her car from Ostermiething towards Riedersbach. In the Ostermiething area, the driver overtook a truck and trailer in front of it on Freilandstraße and probably missed an oncoming car driven by a 68-year-old driver from the Braunau district.

The car was thrown onto the road
Both vehicles collided head-on. As a result of the impact, the driver’s vehicle was thrown onto the truck’s trailer and, consequently, into the adjacent meadow. The driver suffered injuries of an undetermined degree and after receiving first aid at the scene from the Red Cross, he was taken to the University Hospital in Salzburg. As a result of the accident, the 68-year-old driver suffered serious injuries and was also transported by rescue helicopter to the University Hospital of Salzburg.
