Woman accused of shooting ex-boyfriend in Moiliili

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Malia Lajala was originally arrested for attempted murder after she allegedly shot at her ex-boyfriend in Moiliili.

Shots missed a 40-year-old man on November 17 around 10 p.m. on University Avenue; escaped uninjured.

On Tuesday, police charged Lajala with firearms offenses and reckless endangerment.

The 36-year-old was released from custody after posting $20,000 bail from a surety company.

Lajala is the same woman convicted of helping avoid arrest of alleged cop killer Justin Waika on the Big Island in the US 2018.

Court records show she was released on parole last year.

Lajala is scheduled to return to court on November 21.
