1 arrested for burglary and assault in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – One person was arrested on burglary and assault charges following an incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Lexington, according to the Lexington Police Department.

A department news release says Justin Clark, 31, was arrested after police responded to a home in the 100 block of East Fifth Street around 12:52 a.m. in reference to a burglary.

Police say suspect Clark entered the home without consent and then fled.

The release went on to say that a short time later, police were called to another home, this time at 100 DeWeese Street, for a disturbance during which Clark allegedly assaulted two people inside.

The release said Clark was then located on DeWeese Street and arrested with the assistance of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say Clark faces charges of first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault, second-degree assault, first-degree possession of methamphetamine, first-degree criminal possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest and unrelated arrest warrants.
