Arsenal ‘want to sell’ the trio ‘not in Arteta’s plans’ and Liverpool’s target is to replace Odegaard

Premier League giants Arsenal have been backed to “cash in” on three players who “failed to factor into” head coach Mikel Arteta’s “plans” in the coming months.

Gunners are under pressure to deliver positive results in the coming weeks having been winless in four Premier League matches. This gives them 11th place in the table.

Several of Arsenal’s stars are underperforming and must improve their form if they are to close the gap on top-of-the-table Liverpool, nine points clear. Mikel Artetawebsite.

Arteta will likely want to tinker with his squad in the upcoming transfer windows. In an interview with Football Insiderformer Premier League scout Mick Brown claims Arsenal are “ready to sell” Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney.

“The club has three players they would like to sell,” Brown told Football Insider.

“And this is Gabriel Jesus, Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney. They are not in the manager’s plans. When it comes to selling, you need to look at your assets.

“We know there was interest in Saliba, for example, but I think he is one of the last players they would ever consider selling for any money.

“If they feel they need to raise money, they have players they are more likely to approach. This will relieve a large part of the wage bill and help them reinvest in strengthening the squad.

“Sometimes the way it works is you have to let a few fringe players go, collect some money from them, and then refresh the squad with new backup options.

This seems counterproductive, but it helps keep the lineup fresh and provides new options. Especially if you think they are no longer good enough to play a role, or if you have better options in their positions. So first of all, these are the players that I think will make money.”

Martin Odegaard’s recent injury has seriously hampered Arsenal and Gunners pundit Charles Watts believes Lyon star Rayan Cherki – which is Liverpool’s target – would be a suitable successor to the talented midfielder.

“The fate of Lyon is sad. Of course, there is the Arsenal connection with Alexandre Lacazette and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, so you hope they get through it. Watts said.

“If the worst happened and they were actually punished with relegation, you can imagine that some of their best players would come into the market, with Rayan Cherki at the top of that list.

“I have not been told of any interest from Arsenal in Cherki, but you would think that top clubs across Europe would be open to him as a market opportunity if it presented itself.

“He fits the profile that Arsenal likes when it comes to new signings and there is a need to add another playmaker to the squad, which has been highlighted by the absence of Martin Odegaard.

“So it might be something worth looking at. Although at the moment there are rumors that Liverpool could be a club to keep an eye on when it comes to Czerki.
