A Lake Charles man charged in connection with a Nov. 12 murder-suicide

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KLFY) — Authorities said a Lake Charles man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a suspected murder-suicide.

Gabriel B. Williams, 24, of Lake Charles, was charged with obstruction of justice and failure to report certain crimes in connection with the Nov. 12 deaths of Dahlen Semar, 23, and Madison Guillory, 23, in Lake Charles.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Topsy Road on November 12 for a report of a possible hostage situation still being held.

When officers arrived, they tried to enter the apartment and then heard a gunshot. The ACT CPSO Team responded and after clearing the residence, deputies located the bodies of Semar and Guillory.

Detectives ruled the incident a murder-suicide, in which Semar shot Guillory and later committed suicide with a self-inflicted gunshot, officials said.

Authorities stated that appellant Williams provided false and misleading information to deputies and, after calling law enforcement, immediately attempted to destroy possible evidence in the case.

He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. His bond is pending.
