2 persons arrested for stabbing BJP Yuva Morcha president in Kapurthala

Two people have been arrested in connection with the alleged stabbing of a 24-year-old man at Sultanpur Lodhi in Kapurthala on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as Honey Kumar, president of the BJP’s Yuva Morcha block. Two of his friends, Amanpreet Singh and Ajay Kumar, also sustained injuries in the attack and are still undergoing treatment.

On Thursday evening, Honey and his two friends went to the grain market after dinner when the miscreants began attacking them with edged weapons.

Police stated that the attack was the result of old hostility between the two groups.

“The accused and the victims lived in the same town and belonged to the same religious organization. A few months ago, there was an argument between them regarding the organization of a religious event, which turned into hostility,” the police said.

Honey’s body was found in a pool of blood next to two injured people at a local grain market. They were all taken to the local civil hospital, where Honey was pronounced dead.

The accused, Kashisk and Gagan alias Baba, were booked under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A hunt is underway for three other people who also took part in the attack.
