In the incident, Dilawar (35), a resident of Dhakola village in Dhakola, died on the spot and his associate Shubham (25) sustained serious injuries. Shubham, a resident of Karnal in Haryana, is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Chandigarh.

According to the police, Dilawar was supplying drugs to the gang of attackers. A dispute over a pending payment broke out on Thursday evening and led to a stabbing attack.

The attackers, who came on motorcycles and numbered more than six of them, allegedly stabbed Dilawar multiple times in the chest, taking his life.

Police said Shubham, who suffered serious rib injuries, was in a critical condition. Meanwhile, Dilawar’s body was sent to Dera Bassi Civil Hospital for autopsy.

Dilawar’s sister revealed that he left the house around 8 p.m. with two friends but did not return.

“We received information about the attack at 2.40 am and immediately rushed both victims to a hospital in Dhakola. On arrival, Dilawar was declared dead and Shubham was sent to Chandigarh due to his critical condition,” police officials said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that both Dilawar and Shubham were involved in supplying drugs but succumbed to addiction themselves. This led to discrepancies in drug supplies and ultimately payments, sparking a deadly row.

The police are analyzing nearby CCTV cameras and carrying out operations to capture the suspects.

Based on the complaint lodged by Dilawar’s brother, the Baltana police lodged an FIR under Sections 103,109,115 (2), 126 (2) and 3 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act.
