Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nov 23 (PTI) Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district authorities in Maharashtra have banned victory processions on Saturday, when the state assembly election results will be announced.

On Friday, a day before the counting of votes, district collector Dilip Swami met top police officials.

In a video message shared after the meeting, Swami said, “I have spoken to top police officials from the city and rural parts of the district. After the results are announced, things get a bit tense. So, to avoid law and order problems, we will not allow any victory procession on the day of the results announcement.” “Sometimes party workers gather, and sometimes their meeting turns into a procession. We won’t allow that either. Later, when everything calms down, we will allow processions. We have therefore issued prohibitions,” he said.
