Kerala man sentenced to 141 years in prison for raping stepdaughter | Latest India News

A Kerala court found a man guilty of regularly raping his infant stepdaughter for several years while her mother was away and sentenced him to a total of 141 years in prison.

Under certain sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, the IPC and the Juvenile Justice Act, Justice Ashraf AM of the Manjeri Fast Track Special Court sentenced the man to 141 years in prison.

According to the court’s decision of November 29, the man will spend 40 years in prison, which is the maximum sentence imposed on him. Several sentences will be served simultaneously.

The prisoner was also fined ₹7.85 lakh court.

He further ordered the victim to obtain compensation.

According to a police officer involved in the case, the victim and the convict are residents of Tamil Nadu, and since 2017, the child was a victim of sexual violence by her stepfather.

According to the officer, the child eventually notified his mother, who, after seeking advice from a friend, called the police.
