Iran shot down most of the Israeli missiles, reserves the right to respond to aggression – Ministry of Foreign Affairs – World

DUBAI, October 28. /TASS/. Iran will not give up its right to respond to the Israeli attack Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said.

“Iran will not waive its right to respond to the aggression committed by the Zionist regime. This is Iran’s obligation enshrined in international law and in the legislation of any country facing aggression or the use of force. We are resolute and serious in our intentions to respond appropriately to the Zionist attack, this will happen when the armed forces and officials make the appropriate decision,” Baghaei said at a televised press conference.

“Our armed forces constantly monitor all activities of the Zionist regime. Our air defense systems intervened in time and repelled most of the Zionist regime’s missiles,” he added.

Baghaei did not answer a question about which country could have informed Iran about Israel’s impending attack. Earlier, the Emirati television channel Sky News Arabia quoted a source as saying that Russia had allegedly warned Iran hours before the impending Israeli attack.

On October 26, the Israel Defense Forces said they were attacking military facilities in Iran in response to “numerous continuous attacks.” Iran’s air defense forces said in a statement that military facilities in Ilam, Tehran and Khuzestan provinces were attacked, but the damage was minor and the country’s air defense systems were able to successfully repel the main attack. The Iranian army reported that at least four Iranian soldiers were killed in the strike.

On October 1, Iran launched a massive missile attack on the Jewish state in response to the assassinations of key figures in the leadership of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (elite units of the Iranian armed forces). Israel’s General Staff promised retaliation. For his part, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei warned that Iran’s retaliatory attacks on Israel would increase.
