Harris criticized Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden, saying the former president “is fixated on his grievances, himself and the division of our country.”

“This is absolutely something that is designed to fuel and fuel attempts to divide our country. And as I’ve said many times, I will say in my speech tomorrow night that there is a big difference between him and me,” Harris told reporters as she left Joint Base Andrews to spend a day of campaigning in Michigan.

Asked to respond to comments about Puerto Rico during the rally, which the Trump campaign has tried to distance itself from, Harris pointed to her support for Puerto Rico as a senator and her “opportunity economy” proposal.

“I’m very proud to have the support of people like Bad Bunny and Jennifer Lopez and others who supported me against this nonsense last night at Madison Square Garden and they support me because they understand that they want the president of the United States to be about uplifting people, and not criticizing and calling America a garbage dump, as Donald Trump used.”
