Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Suleexpressed deep disappointment over the theft of harvested rice from a government farm located in Jangwa community in Awe Local Government Area.

The incident involved unidentified criminals who broke into the premises farm and took away an unspecified amount of rice.

The Governor made this known while receiving a delegation from the Azara community, led by His Royal Highness Sarkin Azara and Dr. Kabiru Musa Ibrahim, at the Government House in Lafia on Thursday, December 5, Vanguard reported.

“While the state government is pleased with the harvest recorded, it is saddened by the level of theft reported.”

The governor described the theft as a major setback for the state, especially given ongoing efforts to increase food security and support local agricultural development.

Sule issued a stern warning to those involved in such criminal activities, saying:

“The state government will not hesitate to deal decisively with any person caught red-handed.”

Despite the setback, Governor Sule assured citizens that the government remains committed to supporting agricultural initiatives, according to The Punch.

“We will not be discouraged. “We are determined that Nasarawa State, being an agricultural state, the government must lead in agricultural activities,” he stated.

Minister Tinubu spoke about the reform of the agricultural sector
