Police in St. Paul asks for help after an 83-year-old man dies in a car accident

Police in St. Paul is asking for the public’s help after an 83-year-old man died in a hit-and-run earlier this month.

On October 19, police were called to the intersection of Arlington Avenue East and McAfee Street just after 7:30 p.m. when a driver noticed an unconscious man lying in the road. He later died after being taken to hospital.

The man was identified as John Bidon, who lived near the intersection, police said on social media Monday. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Bidon likely died after being struck by a car.

There are no known witnesses to the incident and police do not have a description of the vehicle, said Sgt. Mike Ernster, department spokesman.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact St. Police. Paul at 651-266-5722.
