Former TNA Tag Champion Chris Bey has released a statement regarding his injury

Chris Bey released a statement after suffering a serious injury neck injury compete this weekend on TNA. The statement was made on social media via the TNA Wrestling X account.

“I just want to take a few moments to express my heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation for so much and to so many people over the last few days,” Bey wrote. “From everyone at TNA Wrestling, to the amazing medical staff in Detroit, to family, friends and fans around the world. I know you have been praying for my full recovery after my ring accident last Sunday. Monday was the first day for me on this journey, which I know will be long and challenging. Thank you again for your love and support and please keep me in your prayers!”

Bey suffered a neck injury during Sunday’s match during a TNA Impact taping. He underwent surgery on Sunday evening and an MRI on Monday. According to a TNA statement, Bey was in good spirits and recovering at a hospital in Detroit on Monday.

“Chris Bey is recovering in hospital following surgery for a neck injury he suffered on Sunday evening and underwent an MRI on Monday,” the statement read. “On Monday evening he was relaxing in his hospital room, joking, talking about Bound For Glory and in a good mood. Chris will be in Detroit for a few days and was joined by family members as well as TNA Wrestling managers and wrestlers who are in Detroit. “Chris is under expert care and supervision and local medical staff are in contact with his personal physician.”

Bey teamed with Ace Austin to take on The Hardy’s and The System in the ladder main event Saturday night on TNA Destined for glory PPV event. Bey is a former X-Division Champion and Tag Team Champion in TNA.
