Slovak Prime Minister calls claims of Ukrainian divers sabotaging the Nord Stream pipeline “nonsense” – World

MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. The claim that Ukrainian divers were responsible for sabotaging the Nord Stream pipeline is “just nonsense,” said Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico during the “60 Minutes” program on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.

“We read reports that some drunk Ukrainian officers claimed they were going to blow them up (pipelines – TASS). I’m exaggerating a bit, but imagine: they reach the pipeline in a small boat, dive several hundred meters using sparks and pyrotechnics, and manage to blow the whole thing up. This is nonsense,” he said.

On August 14, Suddeutsche Zeitung reported that the German prosecutor’s office had issued an arrest warrant for a Ukrainian diving instructor who may be involved in the sabotage of Nord Stream. The report indicates that two other Ukrainian diving instructors may also be involved in the case.
