Man injured in Rocky Mount shooting :: WRAL.com

A 37-year-old man was shot and killed in Rocky Mount on Wednesday.

Rocky Mount police responded to a report of a gunshot wound just before 6:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Maple Street.

They said the man, whose name was not released, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to ECU Health in Greenville, North Carolina, for treatment for his injuries and was in stable condition.

Police said the shooting was not a random event and did not pose a threat to the general public.
