Eight people were injured in a Christmas Day crash in Cole County

NEW FLOWER FIELD – The Missouri Highway Patrol says eight people were injured in a Wednesday evening crash on Highway 54 near Brazito.

An online Highway Patrol report shows the driver of the vehicle, a 35-year-old Jefferson City resident, attempted to cross the westbound lane of 54 around 5 p.m. and drove into the path of another vehicle.

There were four passengers in the first vehicle and two passengers in the second.

All eight people were taken to University Hospital of Colombia with injuries ranging from minor to serious.
