Call Of Duty: Black Ops Top 6 Builds: XM4

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Top 6 Builds: XM4

Since it’s unlocked from the start, one of the first assault rifles you’ll most likely play around with is the XM4, and it may – at first – seem like a weak weapon. It’s a souvenir from a bygone era, like AK-74but one that offers enough customization and versatility to be viable on any battlefield. It also works as one of the most effective weapons new Black Ops 6 players can use.

With the right attachments, perks, and wild cards, the XM4 easily dominates any game mode, with a relatively low TTK (time to kill), manageable recoil, and, as mentioned, the versatility of available attachments to suit any play style.

Despite being the primary weapon the game provides once you enter multiplayer, the XM4 offers endless possibilities. It is highly customizable, powerful, and accurate, making it the perfect starting assault rifle for new players. But most importantly, even experienced players will find this weapon a useful weapon in competitive scenes as well.

With the right attachments, the XM4 will help you dominate any game mode, but it excels on larger maps with spacious shooting lanes. After all, it’s an assault rifle, not a submachine gun or shotgun, so while it will be able to take down enemies at close quarters with a bit of luck, it will be most effective at range.

To improve the life of your XM4, select the following attachments:

  • Mouth: Compensator

  • Barrel: CHF barrel

  • Rear handle: Ergonomic grip

  • Under the barrel: Vertical front grip

  • Fire mods: Recoil springs

While the Rifleman perk is active, add the following attachments to your XM4 for a more versatile and powerful weapon:

  • Optical: Accu-Spot reflex

  • Warehouse: Extended magazine I

  • Warehouse: Combat Supply

When you work on upgrading your XM4, you won’t have many valuable attachments right away. But it won’t take much time to unlock Silencer, Vertical front gripAND Expanded Mage I— three key elements of our early build of XM4 in Black Ops 6.

Because the XM4 excels in medium- and long-range engagements, moving quickly, reducing guidance range, and hiding enemy radar proves invaluable. The silencer takes care of the latter, while the extended magazine and rear grip will allow you to stay on your feet quickly and fight longer. Additionally, the goal is to reduce weapon roll and horizontal recoil as much as possible.

For this build of XM4 we want to take the following perks, wild cards and equipment:

  • Benefits 1: Gung-Ho (increases sprint and tactical sprint when reloading or using equipment)

  • Benefits 2: Dexterity (reduces overall weapon swing when jumping, diving or diving)

  • Benefits 3: Double time (doubles the total duration of Tactical Sprint)

  • Specialty: Enforcer (Killing enemies grants a temporary speed boost and increases health regeneration rate)

  • Wild card: Gunman

  • Deadly equipment: Frag Grenade

  • Tactical equipment: Stim Shot

  • Field update: Assault Pack

As mentioned earlier, selecting the Gunner Wild Card will allow you to use three additional weapon slots.

As you level up in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, you’ll have plenty of time to learn the ins and outs of the XM4. But some tips to get started never hurts:

  • With high bullet velocity and overall low recoil, which is infinitely more manageable with the attachments we choose, the XM4 is a powerhouse in medium to long range engagements. Therefore, try to keep some distance between you and your opponent.

  • When using the XM4, aim for the upper center mass around the heart and allow the vertical recoil to gently lift the sight upwards to quickly fire off a few headshots.

  • If you’re feeling adventurous, sometimes it’s more beneficial to walk around in ADS mode with your XM4 at the ready and quickly fire at enemies when they line up with your crosshairs.

Recommended alternatives to XM4

If for some reason you just can’t use XM4, there are some notable alternatives:

  • AK-74

  • AS A WORTH

  • Model L

  • AEK-973

Sometimes you can’t help yourself. You want a rifle that is more accurate, more compact or perhaps slingshot and has a much higher rate of fire than what the XM4 offers. In the case of the latter, we recommend AS VAL due to its high rate of fire and low TTK.

You’ll want to be comfortable with the XM4 because you’ll be using it a lot during the campaign. Luckily single player mode now includes benefits to offset any inconvenience you may encounter.
