Death of Shanquella Robinson | The lawyer for the family of Charlotte murdered in Cabo files a lawsuit against her traveling companions

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Lawyer for mother Shanquella Robinson filed a lawsuit over the death of a Charlotte woman.

“Shanquella Robinson’s family is seeking compensatory and punitive damages in this lawsuit to address the profound emotional and financial loss this incident has caused,” attorney Sue-Ann Robinson said in a press release, according to ABC affiliate WSOC.

Robinson died mysteriously two years ago while on vacation with her six traveling companions known as “The Cabo Six.”

She died the day after arriving at their villa in Cabo San Lucas.

Robinson’s six traveling companions said she died of alcohol poisoning, but authorities said Robinson died of a broken neck.

A video also appeared online showing the woman beating her.

No one has been charged in the case, but now her mother is suing the other six people who returned to the U.S. the day after her death.

The lawsuit alleged multiple counts of wrongful death, battery, negligence, conspiracy and emotional distress. A lawsuit was also filed against the US Department of State and the FBI.

“This lawsuit is not just about seeking justice for Shanquella Robinson; it is also about holding accountable those charged with investigating, taking action and protecting the interests of U.S. citizens abroad,” said Sue-Ann Robinson.
