Cyclist hit by vehicle outside Overton High School

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man was injured after being hit by a vehicle while riding his bike outside a Nashville high school Wednesday morning.

Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department responded to John Overton High School, 4820 Franklin Pike, around 6:30 a.m. and found a bicyclist injured. According to MNPD, the bicyclist was a man in his 50s who was struck by a sedan entering the school.

A Metro Nashville Public Schools spokesman confirmed that the driver of the sedan was a school employee and that the injured bicyclist was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The cyclist’s injuries are considered non-life-threatening and the cyclist is expected to recover.
