Woman accusing Diddy and JAY-Z of rape can remain anonymous

A judge has ruled that the Jane Doe victim accusing hip-hop moguls Sean “Diddy” Combs and Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter of rape can remain anonymous. According to ABC News on Thursday (Dec. 26), U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres ruled that while Jane Doe can keep her identity secret for now, she can change her position at a later date.

In her decision, Judge Torres explained that the alleged victim was “particularly vulnerable to possible harm from disclosure” due to her diagnosis of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and panic disorder related to the stress of the sexual assault.

Judge Torres also noted that maintaining the victim’s anonymity “may harm defendants by making it more difficult for them to gather the facts necessary to prepare a defense,” and explained: “Plaintiffs are advised because the balance of these factors will certainly change as the case unfolds, especially if and when the parties engage seriously in the investigation, the Court intends to reconsider this decision in the future.

The news the lawsuit was first made public earlier this month, with the victim claiming she was 13 at the time of the incident. Tony Buzbee originally filed the lawsuit under the Victims of Gender-Based Violence Protection Act in the Southern District of New York in October, where it solely involved Combs. Carter was added at a later date.

“It’s obvious Mr. Carter didn’t rape anyone.” he called Carter lawyer Alex Spiro at a press conference at Roc Nation headquarters after the accuser gave an interview NBC News.

Spiro also assured“You. Carter has nothing to do with Mr. Combs or Mr. Combs’ case,” he continued, “They knew each other professionally for many years. As in any profession, people know each other. At the music awards, they support each other. You go to the NBA All-Star game, they support each other. That’s how competitions work. There is no closer connection between any of them. This is also a matter of fiction. That’s all, he knows nothing about the charges and allegations against (Combs), he has nothing to do with this case. And there’s nothing more to say.”

The Brooklyn rapper and his lawyer did just that he maintained his innocence throughout this whole ordeal. He even requests that the case be dismissed.

“This incident did not happen,” he shared Reasonable doubts rapper in a statement. “And yet (Buzbee) filed a case in court and doubled down on it in the press. True Justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory. It was over before it started. This 1-800 lawyer doesn’t realize it yet, but he will soon.

According to ABC News, Judge Torres criticized some of Carter and Spiro’s moves, stating: “Counsel Carter’s relentless filing of fighting motions containing inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks is inappropriate, wastes judicial resources, and is a tactic that is unlikely to benefit his client.” The Court will not expedite the judicial process just because a lawyer requests it.”

Despite her inconsistencies, Jane Doe remains adamant in her claim.
